De Lux second []showSF[] []album[] Generation

De Lux @ The Independent
6/3

Such a great band to see live - much fun energy. They have an impressive handle on their tools and abilities. Fantastic music makers

Their new album, Generation, comes out 6/23 on Innovative Leisure
Small hand or big album?

The record is being sold now at all their live shows.

Worth getting your hands on one

Good music to eat pizza to
Good music to brush hair to
but doesn't exclude listeners who do neither

New album is more than awesome
'Oh Man the Future' is such a sad song
the piano in 'Conditions'
but you can still hear hope in the album.

talks about the stuff life is full of
it's real
bits of past present and future

Local Natives []concert[] []oakland[]

(Local Natives @ Fox Oakland Theater 9/12/13)

This was the first show of their tour and quite the show to start it off!
Of course I loved the drumming - really drove the band nicely.

They make for such an entertaining band to see live. Their songs have such awesome build ups and explosions.

 Spoiler Alert
Cool lights! Acoustic surprise!

Baths []concert[]

(image: Bay Bridged)
6/29 Baths + Houses + D33J @ The Great American Music Hall

Baths concert was such a blast! It was the last show on their tour so it was filled with so much energy from the audience and bands. Baths' new album, Obsidian, is definitely worth a listen. (fueled by his recent bout with E coli)
He played around with the rhythm and time of some songs and layered on cool beats to make a head bobbing melody! I was dancing the whole time
Oh and his voice! He created such a good sound. It was an awesome live performance - quite impressive.

Small Black []concert[]

Rickshaw Stop June 2013

...was awesome. Been a long time since I bought tickets and went to a concert.
I liked that there was a live drummer
I liked the lead singer’s cow print shirt.
I had a ball dancing.
The first song was Photojournalist - but a cool remix-y live version. Such a good first song to pump up the audience and set the tone!

I want to listen to more of the new album. Limits of Desire
Was a very good live performance. Definitely a good way to start the summer.

No Stranger

Noise Pop Music Festival sounds like a good [festival] this [year]

So having just moved to the Bay area fairly recently, I'm still trying to find and get involved with the music scene up here.

The Noise Pop Music Festival is from February 26th - March 3rd in San Francisco.

There is an article about Toro y Moi in the East Bay Express that talks about his new album, Anything In Return, out January 22. It mentions that he will be playing at the festival March 1 & 2 at the Independent. Toro y Moi is one of the big headliners of this festival. Other bands performing are Blackbird Blackbird, Teen Daze, Thao & the Get Down Stay Down, Starfucker, !!! .. many more

Toro y Moi is one of my favorite bands, so I'm excited to go to this festival. check out the site for more info.
