compete on this beach
rocking on two curved
arms each

on rubber wheels. Two
sailors each sail
the two-pronged kites
the breeze a machine
the teams of rubber people
pulling the ropes. They
surf fast to land
and later brave the cascades
to ride the wind out
to open waters. Shark
fin sails junk up
the water, the same three
slices of color criss-cross
the course for boats
that are mostly
made of water,
dispersing to the horizon.
